04 Pro Tips

Advice from our team.

i.

Keep a Model Diary

Track every job, casting, and contact. Note what worked and what didn’t. This helps you identify patterns and improve over time.

ii.

Manage Your Social Media

Your social presence is part of your brand. Keep it professional, engage authentically, and showcase your personality alongside your work.

iii.

Always Be Prepared

Bring your model bag to every job: nude undergarments, heels, basic makeup, snacks, and a positive attitude. Professionalism is everything.

iv.

Study Your Craft

Watch runway shows, study editorial spreads, practice poses in the mirror. The best models never stop learning and improving.

v.

Network Genuinely

Build real relationships with photographers, stylists, and other models. The industry is smaller than you think.

vi.

Know Your Worth

Understand market rates for different jobs. Never work for free after you’re established, and always read contracts carefully.

05 Protect Yourself

Know the warning signs.

The modeling industry attracts scams. Know the warning signs before you apply anywhere.

Red Flags to avoid.

  • Agency asks for upfront fees, registration costs, or “starter packages” before you’ve booked any work
  • Unsolicited DMs via Instagram, Facebook, or WhatsApp claiming to represent a major agency
  • Pressure to sign contracts immediately or attend private photo sessions without a chaperone
  • Promises of guaranteed income or “guaranteed bookings” without a portfolio or experience
  • Requests for personal banking details, passport scans, or sensitive documents before any formal agreement
  • Casting calls with no verifiable company name, address, or industry references

How legitimate agencies work.

  • No upfront fees — reputable agencies earn commission only after you are paid for work
  • Contracts are transparent and reviewed with you in person or by a legal representative
  • Agencies have verifiable physical office addresses, listed phone numbers, and professional websites
  • Initial meetings take place in professional settings — never private residences or informal locations
  • Standard commission is 20% of your earnings, deducted only after the job is complete and you’ve been paid
  • Your agent can provide references from other signed models and clients upon request
06 Casting Day Checklist

Be prepared and make a great impression at every casting.
