Frequently Asked Questions

Questions, answered.

Everything you need to know about modeling with Pelageo — from your first application to international bookings.

01 Getting Started

Your first steps.

How do I apply to become a model with Pelageo?

You can apply through our online application portal at castingcall.pelageo.com. Submit clear photos (including a headshot, full-body shot, and profile), along with your accurate measurements and contact information. Our scouting team reviews all applications within 2–3 weeks and will contact you if we’re interested in scheduling a meeting.

Do I need professional photos to apply?

No, professional photos are not required for your initial application. We actually prefer to see “digitals” — simple snapshots taken in natural light with minimal makeup. This helps us see your natural features and potential. If you’re selected, we’ll guide you on building a professional portfolio.

What are the height and age requirements?

Requirements vary by division:

  • Fashion/Editorial Women: Typically 5'9" – 6'0", ages 14–22
  • Fashion/Editorial Men: Typically 6'0" – 6'3", ages 16–25
  • Commercial: More flexible on height, ages 18–45+
  • Plus Size: 5'8"+, size 12+

We consider exceptional faces outside these parameters, so don’t hesitate to apply!

Is there a fee to join Pelageo?

Legitimate modeling agencies, including Pelageo, do not charge upfront fees to sign with them. We work on commission, meaning we only earn when you earn. Be cautious of any agency that asks for payment before you’ve booked work — this is a red flag for a scam.

What modeling categories and divisions does Pelageo represent?

Pelageo represents talent across several active divisions, each developed for specific market needs:

  • Fashion & Editorial: High-fashion runway, magazine editorial, and luxury campaigns
  • Commercial & Advertising: Television, print, and digital campaigns for national and global brands
  • Beauty: Skincare, cosmetics, hair, and fragrance work requiring close-up precision
  • Lifestyle: Authentic outdoor, travel, and family photography for brand storytelling
  • Fitness & Athletic: Sportswear, wellness, and active-lifestyle campaigns
  • Plus Size: Fashion-forward talent in sizes 12 and above for all campaign types
  • Mature: Commercial and lifestyle talent ages 40 and above
  • Runway & Showroom: Fit models and presentation specialists for designer fittings and runway shows

When you apply, our agents review your look and experience and place you in the division—or divisions—where you’re most likely to book. Many models work across multiple categories over the course of their career. Clients booking talent can specify which divisions are relevant through our Book Talent form.

02 Agency Representation

How representation works.

What does it mean to be represented by Pelageo?

When you’re represented by Pelageo, we become your career partner. We submit you for casting opportunities, negotiate contracts on your behalf, provide career guidance, and connect you with our network of industry professionals. You’ll have a dedicated agent who understands your goals and works to advance your career.

Can I be represented by multiple agencies?

This depends on your contract type and market. Many models have “mother agents” (primary representation) and regional agents in different markets (New York, Los Angeles, Paris, etc.). We’ll discuss the best arrangement for your career during our initial meeting and ensure there are no conflicts with your representation.

How does commission work?

Agency commission is typically 20% of your earnings from booked jobs. This is industry standard and is deducted from your payment after the job is completed. Clients also pay a separate service fee to the agency. You should never pay commission upfront or for jobs you haven’t worked.

What if I want to leave the agency?

Contract terms vary, but most include provisions for ending representation. Typically, there’s a notice period (30–90 days) and terms for handling pending bookings. We believe in working relationships that benefit both parties — if it’s not working, we’ll work with you to find the best solution.

03 Working as a Model

Life on the job.

What types of jobs will I be submitted for?

Based on your look and experience, you may be submitted for:

  • Fashion shows and runway presentations
  • Magazine editorials and covers
  • Advertising campaigns (print and digital)
  • Commercial and TV work
  • E-commerce and catalog
  • Beauty and skincare campaigns
  • Brand ambassador roles

How much can I expect to earn?

Earnings vary widely based on experience, market, and job type. Entry-level commercial work might pay $100–500/day, while established fashion models can earn $1,000–10,000+ per day. Campaign work and brand deals can be significantly higher. Your agent will always negotiate the best rates for your level and the job requirements.

Do I need to move to a major city?

For fashion modeling, being based in or near a major market (New York, Los Angeles, Miami, etc.) provides more opportunities. However, commercial and e-commerce work is available in many cities. We can discuss the best strategy based on your goals — some models travel to major markets for fashion weeks and campaigns while maintaining a home base elsewhere.

What should I expect at a casting?

At a typical casting, you’ll sign in, wait your turn, and then meet with the casting director or client. They may take Polaroid photos, ask you to walk, or have you try on clothing. For commercial work, you might be asked to read lines or improvise. Castings are usually brief (5–15 minutes). Always arrive on time, bring your book if requested, and be professional and friendly.

Does Pelageo represent models for social media and influencer campaigns?

Yes. Digital and influencer marketing is an increasingly important part of our talent’s work portfolio. We work with brands seeking models for sponsored content, Instagram campaigns, TikTok collaborations, and brand ambassador programs. A large social following is not a requirement — our primary focus remains on professional modeling talent — but an established presence can open additional digital opportunities alongside traditional print and runway work.

What should I bring to my first meeting at Pelageo?

Come dressed simply in form-fitting clothing that shows your natural frame — avoid heavy makeup or elaborate styling. Bring a valid photo ID and, if you have one, a comp card or portfolio (though these are not required for a first meeting). Having your measurements on hand is helpful. Our agents will take reference photos during the meeting, so just arrive as yourself. Punctuality and a positive, professional attitude matter far more than what you bring.

How does Pelageo support model wellbeing and career longevity?

We take a long-term view of each model’s career. Our agents provide regular check-ins, career strategy sessions, and access to our Model Resources hub — which covers fitness, skincare, nutrition, mental wellness, and financial literacy tailored to the industry. We encourage selective, quality bookings over sheer volume and never pressure talent to compromise their health or values. A thriving model is our best representation.

How does Pelageo handle AI, digital likeness, and image rights?

Protecting our models’ digital rights is a priority. All Pelageo contracts include explicit provisions regarding artificial intelligence: no client may use a model’s imagery to train AI systems or generate synthetic replicas of their likeness without a separate, compensated agreement. We monitor evolving legislation around digital likeness rights and brief our talent on any relevant changes. When a client requests AI-related usage — including virtual try-on, AI campaign generation, or digital avatar creation — our agents negotiate appropriate compensation, ensure informed consent, and define the scope clearly in writing before the shoot takes place.

What is Pelageo's commitment to diversity and inclusive casting?

Diversity and authentic representation are core to how Pelageo builds its roster and serves its clients. We actively develop talent across a wide range of ethnicities, body types, ages, and backgrounds — because we believe genuine diversity produces stronger, more resonant campaigns. We do not tolerate discriminatory casting directives, and our agents advocate for our models’ dignity and fair compensation on every project. We work with clients who share our values on inclusive casting and can curate diverse talent groups for brands seeking to reflect broader audiences in their campaigns.

04 For Clients

Booking our talent.

How do I book a model for my project?

Contact us through our Book Talent page or email us at [email protected] with details about your project including dates, usage requirements, budget range, and the type of talent you’re seeking. We’ll curate a selection of appropriate models and facilitate the booking process from casting through final delivery.

What information do you need to provide a quote?

To provide an accurate quote, we need:

  • Project type (editorial, commercial, campaign, etc.)
  • Shoot dates and location
  • Usage rights (where and how long the images will be used)
  • Territory (local, national, global)
  • Media types (print, digital, outdoor, broadcast)
  • Number of models needed and any specific requirements

Can you help with international productions?

Yes! We have partner agencies in major fashion capitals worldwide and experience coordinating international productions. We can help source local talent, arrange travel for our models, and navigate the logistics of shooting in different countries.

What types of brands and clients does Pelageo work with?

Pelageo’s client roster spans luxury fashion houses, premium beauty brands, advertising agencies, entertainment studios, and high-end e-commerce platforms. Our models have appeared in campaigns for national and global brands across fashion, lifestyle, retail, and beauty sectors. Whether you’re producing an intimate editorial shoot or a large-scale multi-market campaign, we have the talent and industry relationships to deliver results at every tier.

What is the typical timeline from inquiry to shoot day?

For standard bookings, plan for 1–2 weeks from initial inquiry to confirmed talent. We can accommodate rush bookings — sometimes within 24–48 hours — for established clients with completed paperwork on file. Complex productions requiring multiple models, fitting sessions, or travel coordination benefit from 3–4 weeks of lead time. Contact us early and we’ll map out a realistic timeline for your specific project.
